Gilad Atzmon is a well-known cosmopolitan horn player and leader of the successful band Orient House Ensemble, known as one of the originators of the Middle Eastern/Israeli fusion with the jazz genre. In the jazz world he’s worked with Dhafer Youssef, in the more commercial world his horn can be heard on recordings by Pink Floyd (The Endless River), Paul McCartney, Sinead O’Connor and a host of others.
With this new group, Gilad partly returns to his jazz roots with swinging original and standard repertoire, paying homage to John Coltrane and Charlie Parker, while still performing his high-energy ethnic compositions from the Orient House Ensemble period. The outfit released its debut album in July 2025 with Hlava XXII. (SK).
